Beds for little girls.

We have been thinking of getting a new bed for Sara. She is still using the cot-bed we got her when she was born. It is essentially a cot that is a wider and longer than a normal cot and can be turned into a bed once the child outgrows the cot. The railings come off and the height can be decreased to make it into a low level bed. One can easily use it for five years or even more. And now I think is the time to get her first proper bed (I turned the cot railings into an art gallery. Read all about it here).

These are some that I came across. Which ones do you like?

A bunk bed with a hiding spot underneath to read books or to play "house"

Over the moon...umm....over the top...Moon bed for your little one to dream in.

Or a simple classic bed for your elegant little star.

Rooms I heart.

Loving the classy wallpaper, the distressed headboard, the printed cushions and that gorgeous vintage side table. 

Time for some little changes in our bedroom. 

Fresh flowers.Check. Lots of cushions.Check. Pretty bed linen. Check. 

Vintage side table. Ahem...will have to wait.

Totally digging the solid stripes on the floor and 

all that door that can be easily be handpainted.

Never a floral print person but they just seem to fit in perfectly here 

and not so floral girl is liking it .

Rooms I heart

I have always been drawn to ivory colored walls when it comes to bedrooms. Somehow,  the creamy walls make me feel calm and zen like. A must when its a place where I retire every night. The color elements always come in the form of spreads, cushion covers, wall art, books, lamps or some trinklets on my dressing unit. Never the color of the wall.

Having said that I find that I really liking this chalkboard bedroom. An extreme choice, right??

 

I think its the immense love that I have for the chalkboard that is drawing me to it. Don't believe me...just look at the number of posts I have done on chalkboard , right here.

The delicate designs that stand in for the headboard & the carpet are too sweet to be ignored. The multicolored bedspread with those patterned cushions has me salivating. Even though its all very busy and dark in the room, I am still hearting this one. 

What do you think? Can you sleep/dream/find peace in a room like this?

Get me some sleep please!

The first four days of the week have been terrible. All of us are down with viral, the maid decided to fall in love and run away and I have deadlines that need to be met. Between all this DH decided to travel.

So I am dividing my day between mopping, cleaning, washing and the likes, looking after a sick baby & working whenever health allows. In short I want to run away.

And this is where I'd like to be. In the middle of the forest at the top of the tree on this absolutely dreamy bed with such lovely bedding. Since I am doing a 5 a.m. to 2 a.m shift these days I'd like nothing more than some deep undisturbed sleep. I may switch on that gorgeous lamp for some reading though.

Looks like going to a forest is a little impossible at present. May be this hidden loft bed would make up for it. Ah! those white sheets are calling my name.And someone has been kind enough to leave some books & pink flowers to cheer me up! Now only If I could stop myself from staring at that chandelier. Dreams are just a chandelier away!

Rooms I heart!

I am SO dreaming about this room. It has such a colorful & fresh feel...exactly the kind we need it here at Delhi. The lovely rains, the pretty colors & the stripes & the prints, some fresh flowers & a cozy bedspread to curl in with a hot cup of coffee & some cake! And all that light coming in through those pristine sheers..ah! And it has my fav element too...paper lanterns!!! 

Did I mention that the side table is to die for!

A little bit of shimmer!

I came across this picture some days back and found myself going back to it. So had to share it with all of you.  Though I am not sure if I can live in this room, I usually like to be surrounded by a lot more color :) But I am loving the bare brick wall, the two bulbs hanging from the ceiling, the shimmery bedding and the lovely poster bed. One thing that doesn't work for me are the side tables. I would have preferred something less plastic-y here!

March Fetish!!

Alright! Here is another lovely idea for displaying photographs. Lots of picture frames snuggling upto each other and you have a big piece of art! 

Check out the pic below. I lurve the white frames, the solid colored sheets,the patterns and the text there in. This is one pretty bedroom.

Revisiting student life

Guess what I came across on NY times? These absolutely brilliant ideas executed by students at their apartments. Its amazing how you start thinking of creative options to do up your rooms / dorms when you are a student for the simple reason that you don't have money.

I remember creating lamps out of inverted cane baskets, painting cartons and using them as a dressing unit and a table and making photoframes out of cardboard for my hostel room ( The photoframes i still have ;))

Chalkboard hangover

I am really really loving this bedroom. Though usually I am not the types who would like something so sparse. I am a lot more color and yes definitely want much more in my bedroom. But this bedroom of Laura Aviva (I spotted this on DS) sure has that something special that has caught my attention.

I love the way the white and slightly crushed sheets kiss the floor. The huge glass vase and the lovely green adding color to the otherwise white room. But my favorite has to be the chalkboard ( yes, I am still flirting with chalkboards). Who would have thought that a chalkboard would look like a million bucks inside a bedroom!
