Creating Picture Galleries

Picture Galleries. I love them. I want them in all of my rooms. The last time I counted almost all of our rooms had at least one. Perhaps I need to create some more space for more galleries. Each time I look at them they make me smile...

I like to take my time when trying to put one together. Right from selecting the pictures that will go up to the layout on the wall and ofcourse the frames (By the way, saw some really interesting and affordable ones at the  Poster Frames Depot and guess what each of their framecomes with a framer hardware kit...mounting brackets, wall bumpers, spring clips and hanging wire...Yay!)) that will be accompanying our happy memories. The Frames can make or break the gallery.

soundoverwhelming? Yes, it does. But it isn't :) Do you remember the fetish posts I did last year? A lot of them had several ideas on how to hang artwork/ pictures. You may revisit them here ( 1,2,3 and 4)

I came acrossome more interesting arrangements while doing a little research for my kitchen wall.
 Totally loving this one.
Black and White pictures. Always a weakness.
I've shared this one earlier but had to put it here again. i like the way the frames form this neat grid and how by just adding the two blocks of colours gives the entire arrangement more character.

Came across these two pictures that will help you think and decide what kind of arrangement your heart is after.

Before I end some tips I've put to use while creating picture galleries at home.

1. Always-always-alwaymake paper templates of the frames to avoid any mishaps and create a floor layout before you decide to nail them on the wall (whether you go ahead with one kind of frames or a mix and match)
2. sometimes its fun and interesting to mix pictures with some other stuff you have lying around the house...a necklace, some beads, a mask, a teapot, some text...

If you have some more handy tips to create picture gallerieplease do share.

Disclosure : I was compensated to write this post. But really itsomething that I had fun putting together and would have done it anyways:)

A cool post!! I too am in the process of making one. A 70% sale in a nearby frame shop got me buying several of them. Need to work on it more :-. Thanks for the pic sources and tips.
