My favourite part of the year

So the other day I was updating my calendar for the last four months of the year (Really! Last four months!) And while I was filling out several work related deadlines, important reminders, et al I also decided to fill in all the birthdays and festivals.

That's when I realized that the season to celebrate is almost here and I had a big grin on my face. Want to see what it looks like? The months ahead not my face :)

September has already had its share of celebrations with Ganesh Chaturathi and Onam. Still to come are the Navaratras. October is so full of festivities that I am actually giddy just thinking about it, Durga Pooja, Dussehra, Dhan Teras, Diwali, Bhai Duj and Halloween. Wow! What a month!

Come November there is more to look forward to. Eid, Guru Nanak Jayanthi and Thanksgiving. Did you notice that the festivals are all from different faiths? Do you like to celebrate all festivals? I sure do! Celebrating with loved ones, feasting and feeding..love them all.

And ofcourse then there is December with Christmas & New year’s Eve. Throw in Dad’s, DH’s, lil sis’ birthday, our anniversary and phew! What an exciting time to look forward to.

I am having such a tough time deciding which month is going to be my favourite. Mark your calendars and start planning for the festive season ahead. Which is your favourite festival? I am a little partial towards Diwali & Christmas:)

Planning the decor, deciding the menu, making handmade gifts, observing some sweet family traditions, some that we like to follow and some that we create each year...can this get any better?

Do you have any family traditions that you observe or any traditions that you would like to create this year? I would love to hear about it. Do you like to handcraft presents for your loved ones? Then give me ideas, please. And yes, get ready for many many colorful happy posts.

Tadah!

Hi Prachi...such a beautiful post! I love this part of the year....your thoughts mirror mine so much, that I wish I could have a one on one conversation with you right now! Only difference is, most of the birthdays and our anniversary fall in the first half...good thing we have some thing to celebrate in the first half too;)
I love having family traditions. The one that I remember from my childhood is always getting to wear new clothes for Diwali and for my birthday...it was very exciting then! Not so much anymore as kids these days get more than they ask. Do give me ideas on family traditions that you have created or are planning to create. Would love to hear.

PS: Did you miss reading this post of mine?
