Vacation jars

I love vacations. And everything associated with them.Figuring out the place to I'd like to visit, reading up my favorite “lonely planet” to get to know the place a little better, working out the perfect itinerary...everything.

And ofcourse the actual vacation.Trying out new cuisines, meeting new people, absorbing new sights...

And carrying back metro tickets stubs, pebbles, fallen flowers, boarding passes, road maps, museum passes...et al and putting them together in my vacation jars!

Whats the point of getting them home if they are going to sit inside a cupboard right?

Roll the maps and tie them with a pretty twine, tear those passes artistically, simply throw in the pebbles & the shells and the stubs & the tickets and whatever else you picked up. Cover the top of the jar with some lovely patterned cloth lying around the house and finish with some more twine.

Yes, this one  was a BIG Vacation:)

Its nice to have them around the house in glass jars.It reminds me of the good times we had. At times we open them and go through the contents and it sure brings a smile or two. Sometimes a giggle.

How do you keep the memories of your vacation alive?
