Room partitions.

My much loved aunt is building her new home and she has been looking for some ideas on creating a room partitionsSo here isome eye candy especially for you.
Very delicate and a lovely in between between the modern and classic
Love the use of macrame to create a divider
A great way to revamp our very own Indian wooden jaali.
A fresh coat of paint.
Like the simple and clean lines in this lattice design

I like the way its been kept so light and open
and not the usual heavy look that you get with wood.

A good DIY to try;shutters.

Pictures and a divider. Cute for a casual look.

This one made me smile...window panes...remember...
A very refreshing take...very lime & lemony. Great use of cloth.
Charming, isn't it? Get some greens in...

My dream room!

Last week while doing some research for a project that I am currently working on, I came across this image (If I remember correctly this was a picture of a store). But for me this wasn't any pic. This is exactly how I imagine my dream room to be. I have tons of arts & crafts supplies all crying for space hiding in multiple cupboards. It would be so lovely to be able to have all of them together in a room like this.

A perfect table to work on with loads of shelves to store stuff on one side. More space on the wall. Pretty wicker baskets. A comfy stool. And the warm brown and hints of green everywhere in the room are to die for!

If you had some extra space what would you use that for? I'd love to know!

psst: I got an email from "The Lean Remodeler" announcing a contest! Yay!

Its very easy to enter. Take a picture of a room at your home that needs some serious reorganizing. Write a few lines about what you do there and how you would like to see it. It could be any room...a family room, a basement, a crafts room..sigh!! And mail it across.

Together with the Wilsonart Design Team, The Lean Remodeler is giving away a $5000 family storage solution!!! Last date is 30th of April'10. So hurry up!

And yes this contest is open only for US Residents ( Sigh...that leaves me out!).

Colorful Interiors

Yes! I am aware to use SO many colors in a room is a SIN! But the spirit of Holi ( Festival of Colors) which happens to fall on the 1st of March this year had me hunting for really colorful rooms. And each one looks drop-dead gorgeous! So all you lovely readers out there, if you are color crazy and want to experiment with more than three colors in a room/corner, I say go right out and do it!

This orange staircase and the flowery wall sure looks lovely!

Don't miss the magnificent chair and the yellow door and the window railing

Now this one sure is a little over the top for me but has great ideas that one can definitely explore. I quite like the colorful wallart and the ceiling.

Without any doubt my favorite! I like how the white balances the countless colors in the room. I love the colorful lanterns. I so so love the plush cushions! And the big umbrella! And the dainty tea-set! And of course the carpet and the art on the wall. In short, i heart this room;)

Sunny outdoors

Its really cold these days and as much as I am loving it, I am also longing for some sun...the other day God decided to be kind and we got some sun. Not the types to be wasting such a wonderful opportunity, we took the lil one to the park with picnic basket in row. Several homemade chicken sandwiches, chocochip muffins and a flask full of hot coffee later, we found our way back home. Ever since the sun is missing ;( If you happen to meet him, please direct him to my home...please...

And these lovely sunny porches/ balconies/outdoor rooms are not helping me either! Alas, will enjoy these pics till then.

White and Red and a lot of sun, do I need to say more?

Cane chairs, lots of lovely prints and that awesome wooden table make this backyard so inviting

Could have never imagined that dark wood could look so gorgeous in a balcony!

So adore the simplicity of this one and ofcourse the stunning lamp!

Wrought iron chairs against the terra-cottish walls...yummm

I so love the bright cushions and the lantern in this cabana

Indigo, sapphire or azure?

I came across these on Elle decor and though I am not a huge fan of blue rooms or blue accessories, these pictures with so many shades of blue got me salivating. I especially love the vases and the tapestry on the wall. Enjoy!

Chalkboard hangover

I am really really loving this bedroom. Though usually I am not the types who would like something so sparse. I am a lot more color and yes definitely want much more in my bedroom. But this bedroom of Laura Aviva (I spotted this on DS) sure has that something special that has caught my attention.

I love the way the white and slightly crushed sheets kiss the floor. The huge glass vase and the lovely green adding color to the otherwise white room. But my favorite has to be the chalkboard ( yes, I am still flirting with chalkboards). Who would have thought that a chalkboard would look like a million bucks inside a bedroom!

Pretty Rooms

I am liking these rooms at BHG. I am hoping to get inspired by these to do something around my home. I hope you will find some inspiration too.

I love the way the cushions echo the colors of the painting above the fireplace.

Absolutely gorgeous stripes and love the sappy green and yellow feel

Though not a huge fan of lattice work, I like it here. Its so Indian haveli.

Love the stone wall and the use of the barrel

How GORGEOUS are these ?

Aren't these rooms by Meg Braff simply gorgeous? And yet so very calm. I am loving these numerous shades of soft blues.

Prints and stripes do look so pretty together !!

Check out those lovely printed cushions and how the green complements the blue so beautifully...
This is definitely my favorite...i love this delicate shade of blue and the huge vase on the table and the white furniture and the baby pink throw...wouldn't it be lovely to hide in here during summers?
