My love affair with baskets

I have always had a certain kind of love affair with baskets. Wicker or woven baskets in neutral colours, palm leaf baskets in bright colours, cardboard baskets with pretty patterns,et al. They only not make my life much simpler ( It helps address the many many OCD’s that I suffer from:)), make my home look clutter free and makes my shelves look pretty. Not that isn't a bad achievement for an ordinary basket.
Plus everyone at home knows what goes where and the smaller stuff never gets lost.

I've been thinking of getting some new ones for our home. And while doing my little research I came across several interesting ones (btw, I came across this site called www.theholdingcompany.co.uk and they have the cutest hat boxes and the trendiest storage baskets for the kitchen, living area, laundry…you think of it and they have it)

Letstart with the heart of the house. The kitchen.
The "make my hear beat faster" egg basket.
saw one in the shape of a hen at a local grocery shop near my home and have been trying to convince (force) the shopkeeper to sell it to me:))
Love the clean arrangement.
The potatoes and the onions at my home would be super happy if they had these for their home
Woven basket heaven or what? The pantry lookso country.
How about these babies for your laundry?
And these for your garden. Quite an interesting idea to try.
 Awesome colour palette.
They will even stand as good as art, won't they? Help..I am in basket heaven.
The cloth ones get my vote too..for magazines
To keep toys...well because  the tiny things using them are so soft and gentle :)
And for storing precious linen or precious jewels
Love love love the lacework feel they've achieved with plastic.
And by that I don't mean that regular plastic baskets can't look good.
You'll see what I mean in just a second
Pretty pretty...didn't I tell you? Its all about arranging them well.
May be one day someone will make these for my office? Anyone listening?
Power of the tiny. Cute little ones at the dinner table.
Seriously, can't get any cuter. Makes me want to throw a party right now:)

Which ones do you like? Do you have several at your home too?

Disclosure : I was compensated to write this post. But really, its something that I had a lot of fun putting together and would have done it anyways:)

Room partitions.

My much loved aunt is building her new home and she has been looking for some ideas on creating a room partitionsSo here isome eye candy especially for you.
Very delicate and a lovely in between between the modern and classic
Love the use of macrame to create a divider
A great way to revamp our very own Indian wooden jaali.
A fresh coat of paint.
Like the simple and clean lines in this lattice design

I like the way its been kept so light and open
and not the usual heavy look that you get with wood.

A good DIY to try;shutters.

Pictures and a divider. Cute for a casual look.

This one made me smile...window panes...remember...
A very refreshing take...very lime & lemony. Great use of cloth.
Charming, isn't it? Get some greens in...

Confetti garlands

I came across these darling paper garlands and I think they are all calling out my name, a bit too loud & clear if you ask me :) I love the colors and the way they come wrapped around handmade spools.
Seriously how cute is this! Pink confetti in her lil girl's room! 10 feet of dreaminess.
Recycled text garland anyone! Is this making your heart go flutter flutter? Wait till you see some more. Kristina Osborne creates these joyful beauties. Check out her store here.
Pick three??? I will pick all six.  awww...how  I love the greys & the yellow!
BIG fan of this palette and the peachy one too :)
Get some spring inside your home. A multicolored one with solid.
I could have this in my home all year round.

March Fetish!!

You know I am loving buntings this month, right?
But why should they always be triangular and always used for parties and always put on doors & ceilings? Why I ask?
To answer the three whys...

They can adorn your frames. And travel postcards make such an unique bunting. Why keep all of them stacked inside a cupboard when you can display them like this? My heart is going all flutter flutter right now!

Do you know how to crochet? Then what are you waiting for? Get those needles moving...see i told you bunting needn't be triangular :)

Wouldn't making this bunting be so much fun? In a map lover's, traveller's or even a child's room...

And finally, Why stick to walls all the time. Get that needle out and sew it on your cushion cover....a festive feel all the year around.
Which one would you like to try out at home?

December Fetish!

Ten days of the last month have also flown by. I am getting a little nervous. I don't like it when time flies so fast :) Slow down Mr. December.

I was just looking at the different things that caught my attention this year and I found it to be a funny mix of vintage telephones, books as decor, dainty teacups, baskets that double up as decor & storage, my eternal love typewriters, glowing lanterns, maps old & new, gorgeous glass bottles & creating photo galleries.

Now thats quite a list. Wonder what will be next year like?

But before that I still have a pleasant December to dream about. Ladders it will be the dreams tell me. My heart agrees.

I'd like to begin with getting a little bit of the outdoors inside. The distressed ladder, white ceramic planters and the pretty flowery towel makes such a fine picture. See that vintage suitcase display in the background, dreamy!

If you like the modern, clean right angled lines. This is for you.
A customized ladder for your greens.
Which one do you heart?

Logs of wood, a warm quilt, a book to read & a HOT cup of coffee!
Winters when are you coming this way?

This one is calling me to bed...so I NEED to sign off and cuddle my little one and play "house-house" under the sheet with her NOW.

Or in the bedroom.Extra sheets, blankets...now you know where to go!

Magazines in the living room...aah!

It could be any space in your home, get the right kind of basket for some decor & lots of utility and you are done. See you soon with more basket ideas.
