Colour Crush: All things glittery
That I am partial to the second half of the year is a known fact. How can I not be? Festivals, birthdays, anniversaries, picnics, awesome weather and this year...my sister's wedding. I am over the moon. All of the above comes with loads of sparkly and glittery thing. The women in the house i.e my mum, my sis, my little one and me are loving it...so much so that Sara has decided to get married! That girl sure loves bling:)
The men...well...they just don't seem to understand what is so exciting about glitter.
Clutches, ribbons and clothes pegs!
Now those will definitely take out of the boring from laundry..won't they?
That shower curtain is a must:)
How can food not be a part of the glittery fest this winter...
cupcakes and macaroons....lovely.
I read somewhere "Glitter is for life not just for celebrations". How true is that?
Make glitter a part of your life and keep sparkling and smiling:) I know, I will.

Color Crush : Marigold
With my little sister's wedding just around the corner I am having a huge Marigold color crush.
Indian weddings are incomplete without Marigolds and we are having a great time creating colorful moodboards for each of the events. Think...marigold, fuchsia, rani pink, deep green, copper...drool.
Get ready for some marigold love... some for the exteriors and some for the interiors of your home.
Oh and a little word of caution, starting now there might be many a post centered around the oh-so- colorful Indian Wedding..ahem...

Color Crush : Navy Blue
A beautiful Monday morning. And on this gorgeous morning first I need to thank all of you lovely people who sent us tons of good wishes for the new direction that purplehomes has decided to take. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Your wishes, comments, encouragement mean a lot to me. And in the days to come I will be sharing with you more :) Ahem!
Alrightie then...today I feel like I am having a huge crush on navy blue. Now I am very timid when it comes to using a bold color like navy in the interiors of my home but these pictures does make one to bring it in.
This would definitely be my idea of bring in a pop of navy.
Pretty for the risk averse me:)
Or this. Curtains and a drawer cabinet.
Navy walls? They sure do look good with hints of sap green.
Pair it with grey to achieve a subtle effect.
Do you have a little bit of navy in your home?

Celebrating Colours : Flower Confetti
Each Friday I get fresh flowers from the market for our home. I like to have them around to welcome the weekend and they stay fresh through the week and make the home all cheerful and a happy space to be in.
I like to scatter them all around the house; kitchen and the washrooms included. And each time we choose a different "vase".A pickle jar, a beer mug, a tea cup, a trifle bowl, a biscuit tin..the list is endless ( Read an earlier post on this here and get some more ideas here).
But what I have observed is much as I like to experiment with the vase I always shy away from experimenting with the colours of the flowers. Its always white and whenever there is any colour I like to stick with just one.
The fact that we are celebrating colours here at purplehomes all this month is a good enough reason to do away with one colour and adorn my home with a confetti of colourful flowers.
Here are some colourful flower arrangements to help you, if you like me always go with white :)
Don't they all look gorgeous? I now do know what I am picking up from our neighbor flower market tomorrow :)

Color Crush : Teal
A new month. A new crush. Its teal this time.
Images : 1,2,3,4, 5 & 6
Teal reminds me of our last holiday. Beach Holiday.Of cool breeze by the beach. Of a lime sorbet by the beach. Of lovely times with family & friends.
Some more bottle love. And those coupons, they are for keeps.
A table made up of vintage suitcases. Swoon. And grandmother's pedestal fan. Some more swooning.
The dream door. Is that a mirror on it? A great idea.

Color Crush : A bagful of them
Time for Color Crush of the month. And unlike all the other months this time around, I am feeling very colorful. Quite a change from last month's beige, right?
May be it has something to do with the beautiful weather that is allowing us to spend all our time outside. I am working, reading, eating and playing with the little one in our cute-green balcony. The gorgeous flowers around me, a big mug of coffee and a little chill in the air, ah! Perfect.
May be its the festival of colors, Holi thats making me go color crazy.
Whatever may be the reason. I am loving this splash of color. I hope you find it inspiring too.
I am not an umbrella girl but this is the sweetest view ever!
Now this i like! Want a plateful of this?
To knit or not to? To draw or not to?
Wishing you a great week ahead...a week that is full of happy colors.
Want to make it happier? Then don't forget to participate in the CSN giveaway. A cool 60 dollar certificate can be all yours :)

After a lovely day at the beach I will return to this beige room. Drool.
While I drool at all this beige goodness I leave you with some drool-worthy news. purplehomes is hosting a giveaway this month. Watch this space for more:)

Its three degrees here and the chilly winds are going crazy.I want to spend my day & night curled up inside the quilt and only taking my fingers out to click on & scroll down my favorite design blogs :)
And ofcourse to look at some pretty lilac pictures. Yes, Lilac is my first color crush of the year. You will know why Lilac is the chosen one very soon :)
Till then enjoy.
